Dearest P.E.T. Families,

Thank you to all who supported the Grade 6 Graduation Scones Fundraiser.  They raised $438 that will go towards their graduation.

Valentine’s Day was full of red, white, pink! Thank you to PPO who gave each of our students a heart lollipop!

Our Grade 5 students went on a 3-day Ski Trip organized by M. Max and Ms Patty. A beautiful time was had by all, especially the 31 beginner skiers. Perseverance at it’s best!

In honor of Black History Month, Ms Veronica, our Spiritual & Community Animator, organized to have an interactive performance from African artist, Lésouta Luc Bambara, on February 19.  Students and staff got a taste of culture from Burkina Faso, through a fun and energetic presentation of traditional African drumming and dancing.

On February 21, Grade 2 students visited the Planetarium and Grade 6 students went to the Musée des beaux- arts de Montréal.  Amazing cultural activities!

On February 22, Water polo Olympian, Sandra Lizé, spoke to our Grades 3-6 students about perseverance, teamwork, healthy habits (eating, sleeping, working hard), don’t give up, work as a  team and other main ideas.  Merci Mme Lizé!

Our pre-cycle students enjoyed 100 days of school with in-class activities and a parade around the school.  All other classes and staff members lined the hallways to cheer them on! 100% fun!

Thank you to the PPO for spoiling our staff with the  “Wild About Our Staff” themed decorations,  treats and gifts!

Our K5 & Grade 6 graduates had their Grad Photo on February 27.  For students who were absent or those who will want to retake their photos, retake pictures will be on Tuesday April 9.

On February 28, PET celebrated Pink Shirt Day by wearing their pink shirts.  Classes did fun activities and learned about the significance of this day.  We also held our first R.O.A.R.  assembly and awarded one student per class for showing RESPECT!

Every student received a calm strip that we had them put on the inside cover of their agenda.  Calm  Strips are textured sensory stickers with a special reusable adhesive. They're the first-of-their-kind, convenient and discreet fidget tools, crafted to provide sensory stimulation provide sensory stimulation to help regulate restless energy and increase focus throughout the day.

Term 2 report cards were issued on Mozaik on Monday, February 26.  The parent-teacher interviews were held virtually on Thursday, February 29, and first by invitation, and then open to all parents.

March is National Nutrition Month!  Let’s encourage each other to eat healthy foods that promote healthy minds and healthy bodies!

A reminder that the PED Day scheduled for Friday, March 22 has been removed and moved to Monday, April 8.  As such, March 22 is a regular school day.  The school will be closed on Monday, April 8  (no classes and no daycare).

We will be celebrating St Patrick’s Day at PET on Friday, March 15.  Students can wear green and be festive for the holiday!  At night, PPO has organized a dance.  Thank you to all who have purchased tickets; you will receive your tickets after the spring break.

During the week of March 18, PET is holding it’s “I love to READ week!”  See the calendar and memo on this fun-filled week of events!

We have had a few cases of lice (not an outbreak) and appreciate the parents who email their teachers right away to inform them.  Please do not wait and write it in the agenda.  We have protocols to follow and to inform the necessary people, we must be notified.  Please have your child’s hair tied up at school and follow the preventative measures.

Have a fun, safe and restful March break! We will miss you all and see you back on Monday, March 11!

Ms Alvares
