Dearest P.E.T. Families,

Congratulations to all our students and Mme Arianne for an electrifying Rock On Music Concert! Wow! Thank you to all our staff and parents for their help and support in making it a successful event! Thank you to all who bought the K5 Spider Plants of Ms Alexandra’s class.

Our classes have finished visiting the school library and so we must receive all books by the end of the week (June 6). If we do not, library fees will be issued.

A reminder: students are to be in school dress code (solid navy blue or white tops solid navy-blue bottoms or solid navy-blue dress - with no writing/logos/shapes/etc on any items). Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. No sandals. Please provide your child with a reusable water bottle and a sun cap.

PPO is collecting dress-code clothes until June 20. A clothing sale will be scheduled for September 2025.

As we prepare for the end of the year, students are expected to be in school every day and arrive on time. Evaluations, assessments and exams (for some grade levels) are to be conducted, and students must be present. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. Grade 6 students will be finishing up their English exams and will start writing their end of cycle 3 (EOC3) exams in Math from June 10 to 12. We wish them all the best!

As we wrap up another wonderful year at PET, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared. From academic achievements to memorable events, this year has been filled with growth, resilience, and community spirit. We take pride in the incredible journey we have shared—a journey rooted in patience, gratitude, mindfulness, generosity, self-regulation, and a growth mindset. These values have shaped not only our students but also the community we’ve built together. At PET, we have worked hard to create a welcoming environment where every student feels supported, encouraged, and inspired to grow academically and personally. Through challenges and successes, we have embraced learning with open hearts and resilient spirits.

We Belong to a PACK – We are Proud, Appreciative, Confident & Kind!

We are incredibly grateful for the support, dedication, and collaboration of our students, parents, and staff. It is through this collective effort that we create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Thank you to our PPO Committee, Parents Grade 6 Graduation Committee and our Governing Board Members. Your contribution, commitment and on-going support are what helps our PET Community thrive. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your unwavering support and collaboration. Together, we have fostered a nurturing and stimulating environment where our students can thrive and reach their full potential.

A special thank you to our dedicated PET Staff, whose passion, commitment, and care for our students continue to make a profound impact. Your hard work and love create the foundation upon which our students grow.

To our Grade 6 families embarking on the next chapter of their educational journey—thank you for entrusting PET with your child’s early years. We are proud to have been part of their development and wish them all the very best in high school. You will always be part of our PET Family, and we look forward to hearing about your successes in the years to come!

We are thrilled to announce a beautiful addition to our school—our Grade 6 students, Beata, Celeste, Elodie, Lacey, Oscar, and Selena, have painted a stunning mural in the North stairwell! This project would not have been possible without the incredible support of Ms. Anna, Ms. Jennifer, and Ms. Julia, whose guidance and encouragement helped make the mural a success. A special thank you to our amazing volunteer parent, whose skills, support, and generosity were instrumental in making this project a reality. Your time and dedication have left a lasting mark on our school, and we are deeply grateful! This inspiring piece of artwork reflects their creativity, collaboration, and the spirit of our school community. A huge congratulations to each of you for bringing this vision to life! INSPIRE!

For those returning next year, we eagerly anticipate another exciting chapter of growth, learning, and shared experiences. We look forward to continuing to support, inspire, and work together in creating an enriching environment for our students. If you have moved or are planning on moving, please advise us of your change of address by June 6. Addresses affect transportation and the school board needs to have the accurate information. The school board’s Transportation Division will be sending parents two emails concerning transportation services for next year. This is for parents who are requesting transportation AND for those requesting an accommodation. The parents must submit their request online by June 20. Please look for those emails. Also, if your child is not returning to PET next school year, please inform the office/administration. It is important to have the accurate student numbers so that we can staff accordingly.

Here's to a happy, safe and restful summer! May you have many laughs, incredible memories and cherished moments with your loved ones. Please note that the school will be closed from July 1 to August 12, 2025.

With sun kisses and lots of love,

Ms Alvares
