Dearest Parents & Guardians,

Happy New Year! May 2022 bring you and your loved ones much happiness, health, peace, strength, and joy!

Even though the school 2021 year ended abruptly, the December Holiday Festivities that we did celebrate (The 5-day challenge of spotting the gingerbread figure, candy cane, tree, stocking, and wreath; Save the Gingerbread Man; and dressing up as if in the North Pole) were all a great success! Thank you to our staff for organizing these fun activities! The catered pancake brunch that was scheduled for Tues. Dec. 21 will be rescheduled to another date. We will keep you informed. Unfortunately, we were unable to give the students their holiday gingerbread ornament gifted by our PPO Committee. These will be distributed once we are back at school in person.

Thank you to all who attended Mme Arianne’s virtual Holiday Music Concert! Our students were incredible and we thank Mme Arianne for all her hard work and creativity. Thank you to all who donated non-perishable items. These items were donated to the Sun Youth Foundation. Our Dress Down Day from November raised $561.25 that is being donated to different food organizations. Thank you for all your generosity!

Thank you to our teachers, CCWs and Daycare staff for the past week and a half for all their hard work during the online learning sessions and emergency daycares. Thank you to all of you for supporting your child during these challenging times.

Return to school on Mon. Jan 17: As per the government’s directives, we will return to in-school learning as of Mon. January 17. We will follow all guidelines and protocols to ensure the safety of all our students and staff. Please assess your child every morning and every night. If your child is symptomatic, please do not send them to school. If your child or someone in the household had tested Covid positive, please follow are guidelines before your child returns to school. If you have traveled, please the government website to see when your child can return to school. The school board will be sending out more information next week.

To all families who have borrowed an electronic device, please keep the devices with you for now. We will send you an email as to when you can return them to the office.

Due to the pandemic, extra-curricular activities are on hold until further notice. This includes PELO. As such, there will be no PELO classes until further notice.

BASE Daycare: PET’s daycare offers interested families the opportunity to use the HopHop app. HopHop is a simple and secure application that allows the daycare centre to synchronize the preparation of your child with your estimated time of arrival. Your child can quietly finish his activity before preparing to leave. The estimated arrival time is automatically calculated from the GPS of your smart phone or can be set manually (mobile app or web version). A notification is sent to you when your child is ready at the daycare service, thus minimizing your exposure time at school and with other parents. The application uses photo-identification (ID) to simplify the work daycare team during the daily dismissal of your children. When your request is sent for the preparation of your child, the name and photo of the person assigned to pick up your child will appear at the daycare. The application allows you to easily manage the names and photo ID of friends or family members you already authorized to pick up your children at the daycare. For more details visit http://www.hophop.ca.\

On PED Days, if daycare services are needed, you must call 514.374.0554 or email MFilippone@emsb.qc.ca and register with Ms. Mara, our Daycare Technician.

Covid-19 vaccinations: We have confirmation that our students can receive their second dose on Feb. 9th. More information to follow.

On behalf of the entire staff, I thank you for your support and cooperation. Together, we will get through this. Take care, be well and stay safe!

Ms Alvares
